Onion food with chicken wings

I was telling you last week that I bought, at a discount, some chicken, without breast. There were practically, in bags, two chicken legs, two wings and a chest. The price was good and the offer was irresistible, so I bought three bags and cooked them as efficiently as possible to get the most out of the offer, with a low budget.

So I prepared a chicken soup from the baskets from the chicken breast, I put the thighs in the oven with vegetables (here is the recipe) and from the wings I made the next day a delicious one onion food, whose recipe I will write below.

It is a simple recipe to make, relatively fast, which will not give you big headaches. Maybe just a few tears from cleaning the onion :) It's also cheap because all you need is onion and some tomato juice to make it. Plus, obviously, a little oil, spices and water. If you want you can try the recipe with other pieces of chicken, with thighs or chicken breast. It will come out just as good :)

  • You can replace the parsley with a sprig of dill, if you are looking for a more aromatic taste.
  • The oil can be sunflower or olive.
  • The amounts of salt, pepper, allspice and paprika are chosen from experience and taste.
  • If you want the sauce to be lighter, you can add kitchen towels to the bowl in which you keep the thighs, before putting them in the oven. The paper will absorb excess oil.
  • For a thicker sauce, you can replace the tomato juice with the same amount of mashed tomatoes. You can even use fresh, peeled and chopped tomatoes.
  • You don't have to pay too much attention to the process of cutting vegetables. Longer slices are part of the charm of the food.
  • The brave ones can replace green onions with leeks, but the amount will have to be halved.
  • Why not add a box of sliced mushrooms? You will discover an even richer taste when you cook the food for the second time.
  • If you add 100 ml of white wine to the preparation, you will come across an even more complex taste.
  • If you prefer these greens, you can also add spinach or stevia.
  • You can get lighter amounts of meat if, when detached from the bone, you cut it into strips.

Suitable gaskets

  • Polenta
  • Natural potatoes
  • mashed
  • Fresh salad
  • Peasant bread
  • White wine.

Chicken food with onions

Out of ideas for lunch? At the suggestion of a friend, I tried the onion dish with chicken and the whole family liked it! It tastes a bit like the stew I usually make, but the wine and laurel give it a special aroma!

What ingredients do you need for chicken with onion food:

  • 300-400 grams of meat (chicken, pork, lamb, beef and even game)
  • 100 ml oil
  • 100 ml of tomato juice
  • 50 ml wine
  • a bay leaf
  • a teaspoon of pepper or allspice
  • 300 grams of onion & ndash about 5-6 medium onions
  • half a teaspoon of paprika or pepper paste

And now let's start preparing the chicken with onion. Peel the onion and leave it for about 15 minutes in cold water to get it out of the heat. Take the onion out of the water, wipe it on a kitchen towel and cut it into very thin slices. In a hot pan put 100 ml of oil, add sliced onions and cook for 8-10 minutes on low heat until soft and shiny and translucent. Add half a teaspoon of paprika and half a teaspoon of salt, mix well until the paprika is evenly spread and add the meat cut into pieces. Cook the onion with the meat until the meat coagulates & ndash becomes whitish on the surface. Add 100 ml of water and let the food simmer until the meat is cooked - about 45 minutes for chicken and 1 hour for pork. Be sure to stir from time to time, and if the sauce formed drops a lot, add a little water to complete. If the sauce drops completely, the onion will burn and give a bitter taste to the food. If you are unlucky enough to burn onions, quickly change the food into another pan. Instead of boiling the onion food on the fire, you can put it in the oven, respecting the same cooking time - about 45 minutes for chicken and 1 hour for pork. When the meat is cooked, add the tomato juice, the bay leaf, a pinch of pepper (or allspice), 50 ml of wine and let the food boil for another 10 minutes. If you like to have a thicker sauce when eating, thicken the sauce with a little flour. In a bowl, mix with a fork 1 tablespoon of flour with 2-3 tablespoons of cold water until it becomes a paste, then dilute this paste with 5-6 tablespoons of sauce, and pour the result obtained in the food. Let the food boil for a few more minutes, then turn off the heat. The food is only good to serve! I recommend you to add a garnish of mashed potatoes, boiled rice.

Chicken stew

Chicken tinsel & # 8211 simple and tasty recipe, presented step by step, with pictures. How many calories does a portion of chicken ostropel have? How to prepare a chicken ostropel, the list of ingredients and detailed preparation instructions.

stew chicken is one of the dishes (quite a few) considered authentic Romanian. Even Wikipedia, which does not give the same honor to other dishes, in my opinion more unattractive. Without a doubt, a chicken ostropel is a delicious stew. If you make it from a good chicken, raised responsibly (and especially with grains) and you also put a polenta next to it, you will be happy and you will wonder if you have reached heaven.

On the other hand, almost identical dishes are found in other kitchens. If you have the curiosity to look for information, you will discover that pollo al pomodoro by the Italians but also pollo al tomate by the Spaniards are almost identical. The difference is only in half of the white wine. And in the end, it's natural to be like that. The simple ingredients from which this food is made combine with each other so well that it could not fail to conquer the taste buds of people of different ethnicities.

Here, I took the story of this chicken ostropel to the traditional area. That's why I tell you that in the cookbook signed by Sanda Marin, 1948 edition, we find the duck, goose or chicken ostropel. A little different from what we do today, at that time it was a food with lard, thickened with flour and soured with vinegar. Clearly, things have changed for more than seventy years. You can find my recipe below.

Chicken legs with onion and mustard

The aroma that this food emanates, being in the oven, is very appetizing. Onions in combination with meat is always a winning option. You can also prepare marinated meat on the grill.

  • 4 boneless chicken legs (about 800 g meat)
  • 100 g onions
  • 2 tablespoons mustard (with or without berries, as you like, but no sugar)
  • salt, spices

The onion is cleaned and pureed with a mincer. Mix well with the mustard, add a little olive oil, if necessary. It must have a not very fluid consistency.

The meat is salted and greased on all sides with onion and mustard puree. Leave to cool for at least 2 hours (preferably overnight).

After the time has elapsed, remove the meat and move it to a tray. The pieces of meat should not be crowded, so use a tray large enough.

Place the meat tray in the preheated oven at 200 degrees C for about an hour. It returns during baking, for a uniform browning. You can use the onion and mustard sauce when serving.
