Boil the potatoes in their skins and leave to cool. They are cleaned and crushed as for puree. Add the flour and then knead the dough.

In a pot put boiling water with a pinch of salt, and in a pan brown the breadcrumbs in butter, approx. 5 minutes on the right heat. Sprinkle sugar and vanilla over the breadcrumbs.

Sift flour on the work surface, spread the dough to a thickness of about 8 mm and cut it into squares. Place a plum on each square obtained (remove the seeds beforehand), then a little sugar and cinnamon powder (about a knife tip on each plum). We make them lumps, then we put them in boiling water. Boiled dumplings will rise to the surface of the water.

We take out each dumpling and roll it in the browned breadcrumbs.

They can also be filled with strawberries, apricots, peaches, or other fragrant fruits that you like. :)

Dumplings (dumplings) with reinvented plums

Mmm, the plum dumplings! Transylvanians know all too well that there is no other dessert in the world that is tastier and "more memorable" than this one. The first time I heard about this dessert, I didn't even think to taste it, let alone like it. But with the first bite, I was impressed by the delicious taste. The sweet-sour plum, wrapped in the generous layer of tender dough, conquered me on the spot!

Even if I haven't managed to prepare this dessert so far, the recipe below, offered by Chef Nicolai Tand, made me try it too.

With the ingredients at hand and the recipe in sight, I urge you to prepare this dessert too! Here's how to make wonderful reinvented plum dumplings!

INGREDIENTS (for 6 servings)

  • 3-4 potatoes
  • 300 g of flour
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • a tablespoon of caster sugar
  • 5 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons semolina
  • 2 eggs
  • a good tablespoon of butter
  • 200 g of prunes
  • 30 ml brandy
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon

METHOD OF PREPARATION

1. Wash the potatoes and peel them in cold water.

2. Wash and cut the plums in half and fry them over low heat in a pan in which we sprinkled a tablespoon of caster sugar.

3. Also in the pan put a cinnamon stick next to the plums and add the butter, flambé with brandy, then add the water, until a paste of the consistency of magiun is made. It takes about 30 minutes.

4. After the potatoes have boiled, grate them on the finest part of the grater.

5. Mix the grated potatoes with the semolina, egg, flour and a tablespoon of powdered sugar. From the composition we make a long and thin roll, which we cut into 2-3 cm pieces.

6. Put the pieces of dough in boiling water and remove from the boil when they rise to the surface. We then put them on a piece of paper to absorb the water.

7. In a bowl in which we put the cooked dumplings, add the plum paste and mix.

8. Mix 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar, 5 tablespoons of breadcrumbs and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture over the plum dumplings.

As long as you do not prepare this dessert, there will always be little! We highly recommend you try the recipe! It's amazing but everything is very fast, the ingredients are simple, and the pleasure is indescribable!

INGREDIENT:

& # 8211 120 gr of butter at air temperature

& # 8211 1 teaspoon cinnamon

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

1. Beat the soft butter with sugar and salt until light in color.

2. Add the eggs and mix well with the mixer.

3. Combine the flour with baking powder, transfer it to the bowl and mix with a spatula a homogeneous dough.

4. Add the dough to the shape (22 cm) and distribute it evenly.

5. Place the plum halves with the cut up and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

Advice. Add as many plums as you want, but don't overdo it, otherwise the cake may be too wet.

6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for 45 minutes.

That's it, the plum cake is ready! Aromatic, with an incredibly tasty crust and cinnamon scent! Really worth a try! Serve hot, hot or cold. It is delicious with an herbal tea or intense coffee!
